Roy Keane Front or Real !!!

So Roy Keane’s book is out soon and some of the stuff that has come out makes you think that he is a desucsting  person. But is it real or a front. Well if so then he probley will lose the respect of a lot of people and probley some of the players at Aston Villa where he is assistant manager which could put villa’s great season a risk. But what if he is putting on a front to keep this hard man up image he has as a player and a person.  Personal I think it is a front so it keeps his hard man image up. Let’s be honest here what right human beings to think that it’s good that a person had a cardiac arrest to take away from a teams poor performance which leads me to think that it is a front for every one looking on. But we will probley never know the answer to this. There one thing to say for sure it will probley be a good read for anyone who like football. Manchester United vs Everton review

Well what a weekend for United with a great win against Everton and Falcao scoring his debt goal. Also it was the first time that LVG has got back to back competitive wins under his belt. So where to start lets start with the positives with Rooney gone there seemed to be a better team spirit and the team worked better without him and also learned more from their mistakes with the leadership of RVP guiding them instead of Rooney shouting at them till they are fed up and don’t care. Also a big positive is that De Gea had an amazing game which can only help him in his confidence which i expect is low after making mistakes in his game in regards to distribution and decisions making. Also the defence has gained confidence from a solid performance against a decent attacking opposition which may have not been on its best at the day.

So my player ratings for this game are

De Gea: 9

Rafael: 8 McNair: 7 Rojo: 7 Shaw: 6

Blind: 7 Valencia: 6 Di Maria: 8 Mata:7

Falcao: 7 Van Persie: 7

I like to give Rafael a special mention as he as been outstanding in the this game and the one against West ham with him going forward at every available opportunity and cleaning up everything at the back. Let’s just pray that this continues and doesn’t get injured.

So what’s next for United well it’s the international break now so there will be no games next week but we will look forward to see how the United players get on and hope for no more injuries. But our game when the break is over is West Bromwich albion away. Which will do a preview next week. But in the meantime I will be posting about news paper talk during the week.

Thank you for reading this if you have a opinion on the match please leave a comment. Also please follow the United Wrap for more United related post.

The Rooney Problem !!

Now after the weekend many United fans will be scratching their heads saying why is Rooney the captain and for some people why is he even in the team with better players like Mata and Januzaj who are much better in that position and can play at a much faster pace than Rooney. Plus these two players have better qualities in terms of ability on the pitch in regards first touch, passing, pace, vision and being in the right position. But also better in their temperament in regards how they conduct themselves on the pitch in regards of leading the team and giving advice to young players when they do somthing wrong on the pitch. But who deserves to be captain if Rooney doesn’t well to be honest the only person i would give it to is RVP or Blind as they are more composed and seem to give more advice to younger players when they do wrong on the pitch. My view on this that Rooney should be dropped and sold on for the benefit at every one at the club as the youngsters would develop more in the right leadership and the team would listen to a better captain. Plus the financial part would be we could afford better players after the 300k a week is gone off the books. If you think otherwise please leave a comment and follow things blog thank you for taking the time to read this.

United vs everton Preview

Next we have Everton at Old Trafford which will be a very tough task for us and with Everton’s style of play can cause many problems for a defence which is currently very poor at best. But a blessing is that Everton’s defence has been sloppy as well which will mean that we could be in a good chance of seeing lots of goals at the weekend. But how will Everton play. Well they will press high in with the full back pushing on into our defence with midfielders like Barry to take the place of the full back when they bomb forward. Also Everton are desperate to get back to winning ways after a lose to palace and a drew to Liverpool in their last two games. How they will line up is a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 but i reckon it will 4-3-3. With the line up looking like this.

Now on to United one saving grace is that Rooney is not playing which will be able to give the attack more pace which will be better against a stubborn Everton defence. Also it will be interesting to see if LVG will play play McNair in defence again after his brilliant performance in his debut and if he also includes shaw in the squad now that Blackett is back. The next dilemma for LVG is that does he choose Mata or Januzaj I personally think that Mata will start then sub him with Januzaj which will give him more pace in the attack and will link the play better. It will be interesting to see who is captain without Rooney in the team and Darren Fletcher unlikely to start so that will leave Van Persie or Blind to be captain which is a massive improvement on our current captain. This is what i think the lineup will be and the formation will be the same as last week.

Now on to my prediction is that it will be a 2-2 with Falcao to score his first for United and Mata scoring the first and assisting the second.

Now to start with the positives. In attack we were great again and it showed in our first goal which we showed determination in the way van persie held the ball up enough time so Rafael could bomb forward and take the ball to cross the ball so Rooney could score. Another big positive that we can take is our defence which is no way near top quality of other sides but in regards to last week was 100 times better after keeping its cool when rooney got sent off and also was better organized apart from when back passes come back there way and set pieces were taken. We also have to give credit to McNair who had an amazing debut in the first team against a reasonable opposition. But my only concern is that he doesn’t know his best position which could hamper his development in the first team as it has in the terms of Phil Jones development in recent years. Also De Gea kept his cool and made some good saves.  Now for the negatives and to all united fans who know the team inside out theres no surprise that there’s just one big one which is effecting the whole team in how they cope with matches and that is Rooney although he scored his actions were whipped off because of his tackle (more like assault) on Downing which resulted in a red card. Which is unacceptable from the captain of manchester united and should be taken off of him.

Player Ratings

De Gea : 7

 Rafael: 7              McNair : 8         Rojo: 6        Shaw 6

 Herrera: 7                     Blind: 7               Di Maria: 7

  Rooney: 4

  Van Persie: 6          Falcao: 7

What to do at Old Trafford

Have you ever thought to yourself what to do at Old trafford if your couple of minutes or hours early for the game well today this is where you find out what to do around the theater of dreams. where to start because there is so much to do well ill start with something to eat and shop thankfully a 10 minute walk straight down pass sam platts and you be by salford quays which is where you will see the Lowry hall outlet which has a number of places to eat for example subway, nandos, harvester and bella italia then once you are done eating and fancey a shop there are plenty of shops to look at. download

But what if you have a couple of hours to kill well you could always watch the big screen in media city if its a sunny day or if thats not your thing there is the national war museum which if you’re into war history then this is for you. It has a collection of of war pieces and has a part which is dedicated to 9/11 which is an eye turner. The best thing about this is its free you can look all day and not get charged.

Now if you looking for something to do before kickoff there is always the Manchester United megastore which is good place to visit but i do warn you to go very early if you do not enjoy tight spaces because if you go an hour to 30 minutes before kick off theres not much space at all in fact id go to say that you would find more space in a rammed night club. Now if you don’t like any of these options you can catch a tram from media city to the centre of manchester where the options are endless shops, bars, museums and the list goes on. If you know of any places to go around Old Trafford please leave a comment below and please follow this blog.

Manchester United V West Ham United Preview

So after a poor result against leicester city sunday we will be hoping for a much better result at home and for no refereeing blunders from penalty decisions. So are next opponents are West ham united who are full of confidence after beating a liverpool side that were poor in defence and attack. But i must give them credit for how they did it which was bossing the midfield with giving the opposition no final pass option and the defence cleaning up any loose balls that come their way. which led them to keeping conceding goals low but also with their much improved attack they were able to capitalise on poor defending from a poor liverpool side. So who are the danger men for Man united. One person who does look dangerous for the hammers is valencia who will be looking to keep his goal scoring going against a weakened united defence with Johns, Evans and Blackett out due to injuries and suspensions. In midfield Mark Noble will try to create opportunities for wingmen to get in behind our defence. Their formation will probably be the same as against liverpool which was an 4-3-3 which will then become a 4-4-2 diamond. This is how they will line up.

Screenshot 2014-09-22 at 15.52.43

So what about our beloved united well to take positives from the leicester game we were the better team in attack and look like scoring from every opportunity which is a huge improvement from a year ago under Moyes and how well the attacking players linked together was probably the best i’ve seen since 2008 when we had Ronaldo and Rooney linking together. One more positive to be taken from that game is that Van Persie scored which usually means that he starts scoring for fun. Now on to the things LVG needs to improve for this game is that the defence let us down so much in their decision making and keeping hold of possession which is just criminal in a league of this standard where nine times out of ten teams will take advantage of this. In fairness to Blackett he is still inexperienced at this level so does not know yet look for more options in tight situations but this will come in time with an word in his ear hole. So what to expect at Old Trafford well with the attacking options we have, We can expect lot of attacking football which should unlock a tight West Ham defence. So how will our formation be. Probably same as against leicester a 4-4-2 diamond where Herrera and Di Maria will cut into the middle when the left back and right back push forward into the opposition half then blind to act as a holding midfielder to try and dominate midfield and give the ball to the creative players. This is how i think we will line up.

Screenshot 2014-09-22 at 15.39.43

So to my prediction i believe we should be to much for West ham in attack and midfield so the outcome will be 3-1 and falcao will score and Di Maria will score and assist. But the defence will have a lapse in concentration and valencia will score a header from a cross or set piece. If you have a view on this leave a comment and please follow this blog please.

About me

About Me

Hi thank you for taking the time to look at this blog I just thought id tell you about me so that you can understand some of the things that i post on this blog. As you can tell i am a Manchester United fan i do try to get to many games as i can but can not go to all of them due to work commitments. But i do sit down to watch the games every game at the weekend. My favourite player of all time to wear a united shirt if David Beckham as i use to emulate his free kick as i was a kid in the back garden and games. My player that i dislike the most who has worn the united shirt is Wayne Rooney as I think his proprieties as a player and captain are completely off the mark to where they should be and as a leader sets the wrong example and there are other players younger than him that are better. The football i like to see is fast pace with a tactical twist in the game. When i do watch a game I like to look at the tactics in a game where the team looks strong and weak and the same goes for the opposition. Ino this blog you can expect to find what you would normally find in a football blog match preview and predictions, player ratings, news, gossip and there will be things you would not expect in a football blog for examples things to do at Old Trafford, Book reviews on Manchester United players or good football reads and where to find Manchester United clothing. Also what to expect if you go on the tour or museum So i do hope you enjoy this blog and please follow and share this blog.
