QPR vs Manchester united Preview

So after losing ground the weekend to tie up third place we will be looking to get back to winning ways against a QPR side who are strong at home and also looking to improve on results from last weekend where they lost to Burnley 2-1 but also prove to their fans that they want to stay in the premier league. But what can we expect from QPR? Well it depends on what side turns up and what Harry Redknapp decides for the game but we can expect a tough match with Austin trying to get on the end of knockdowns from Zamora or Taarabt which will be supplied by Barton with long balls and through balls into the area. As for their defence and midfield well I can’t see them overrunning us in these areas but I can see them giving us a physical game in midfield and defence. But they also have a mistake in their midfield and defence so we could expect to pounce on this. This is how I expect QPR to line up.

So what can we expect from united well we will hope to have shot on target in this match but also could we see a change formation with a lot of us starting to think is this formation really working and Van Gaal coming under pressure to make sure that we do not lose any more ground on third and drop out of the top four. We can expect the likes of Jones back to the starting line up but also expect Van Persie out for this match with an ankle injury. But the next big question for all united supporters will be will Falcao start or even be in ground after reports of him leaving in his car from Old Trafford and with his agent this week saying I don’t see him playing at united when his load is over. This is how I expect United to line up at the weekend.

Manchester United vs Southampton Preview

This Saturday sees the return fixture at Old Trafford of united vs Southampton and after a win in the FA cup we will be looking to continue our undefeated streak on Sunday. This will be difficult though as Southampton are undefeated in their last five matches with their last defeat coming in getting knocked out of the capital one cup by Sheffield united. At this moment in time they have two of their first team regulars are in the way of Mane and Clyne but apart from that we can expect a full strength squad. What can we expect from Southampton? Their style of play is to keep the ball and play with it until they can find an opening on goal but they also press high when in possession of the ball so that they can keep the ball in their opponents half. Who are there Danger men? There biggest danger man is Pelle who often makes runs behind the defence and holds up the play so that more players can join the attack. There other danger men are Schneiderlin who can create scoring opportunities by playing balls over the defence to Pelle and Long who tends to score from the second ball and passes from Pelle and Schneiderlin. This is how I expect Southampton to line up on Sunday.

For united we are looking to improve on an average performance in the FA cup but also to continue our undefeated run but that will be difficult with the likes Valencia, Young, Rafael and Shaw all out of action with the earliest back expected on the 11^th of January but we could see the return of Blind who might make an appearance on the subs bench. We could also see a change in formation now that most of our wingers, left backs and right backs are now injured but I very much Van Gaal would like to do this as this would hamper to progress of the team to understand the system that he wants to play. This is how I expect us to line up on Sunday given no more injuries between now and Sunday

My prediction for this match is that it will be a 2-2 drew with Rooney and Herrera scoring for united and can expect a mistake from defence some were in the match. Let’s hope we can improve on performances from last weekend in the FA cup.

Stoke vs Manchester United Preview

So after a draw at the weekend we now play Stoke on the road on New Year’s Day whose form at the moment has been good only being beaten once in the last five games so it will be hard for us to win this game as it always is going to Stoke. What can we expect from Stoke well they do tend to play a mix of well play short passes and a mixture of long balls but recently they have turned back time and gone for the traditional stoke long ball system in the last couple of games. Who are there danger men? There biggest threat is Bojan which most of their play come through if they play properly the other two danger men for them at the moment is Diouf who knows all about us being a ex Manchester united play. Their other danger man is Crouch who is as always the biggest threat in the air. This is how I expect Stoke to line up against us.

What about our beloved united? I expect us to line up the same against Stoke. But we should put a strong midfielder in the middle of the park against stoke so that we can break up there play better then we can dominate the play in midfield. Also we could also play four at the back in this match being against a team who is currently playing a lot of long balls at the moment which will help us in the terms of protection for the goalkeeper and also keeping possession on the knock down from the headers. This is how I expect us to line up against Stoke.

My prediction for this match is that we will win this 2-1 with Rooney and Falcao to Score. But I do expect this to be a hard match for us and not dominate possession like we have done in the last two matches.

Aston Villa vs Manchester United Preview

We now face Aston villa on Saturday at Villa park and with our 6^th win on the bounce we look to make that seven now against the midlands club who are down near relegation and looking for a win against a United side who are struggling with injury’s and looking solid in defence. What positives can we take from the last match? Well the biggest positive is that we looked dominate in attack and with Van Persie back to his best and scoring a goal we can expect more against a team who are poor in defence at best. We can also take a positive in the formation which gave Rooney more freedom to stay in the attack and not drop back. Aston villa will be looking to win this game after losing in their derby against West Brom with having an important member of the first team sent off. What should we expect from this side? Villa like to play on the counter attack with Benteke liking to play on the last defender to run on to through balls or keep the ball up to play it down the wings which means we will have the lot of the ball. Who are their danger men? Well the biggest is Benteke who is hard to knock off the ball with his strength which could cause us problems there other danger men are Agbonlahor and N’Zogbia who will operate down the wings. This is how I think Aston villa will line up. The only changes they will make is that Cleverly will not be in the match due to the loan rule in his contract which we will see Bacuna come in for him and Cole come in for Richardson.

For our beloved united we could see the return of Di Maria if he is fit enough on the day and we will not be with Rojo as he picked up a knock in training but has not been given a return date yet. We could also see a change in formation with Rafael coming back from injury for this game which could mean we could play four at the back but Van Gaal will most likely stick with three at the back for now. We could also see Falcao start as this could be perfect fixture for him to play to see if his fitness is back to his best or how far away he is from the fitness that Van Gaal requires. This is how expect us to line up against Villa.

In all games we have played against Aston villa we have won 95 ended up drawing 38 and losing 49 this does include the time when the club was known as Newton Heath. In the last time we played in the premier league united won 4-1 with goals from Rooney, Mata and Javier Hernandez.

My prediction for this match is that we will win 3-1 and Rooney will score along with Van Persie. I do predict that this will be a hard game to win as we do not play our best at Villa park in past matches.

Manchester united vs Liverpool Preview

So after a poor performance against Southampton we now face Liverpool on Sunday who are batted of confidence after poor results against Sunderland and Basil during the week which we will be looking to capitalize on in a win and make it our sixth win on the bounce and make third position in the league look more comfortable if results go our way. So what about Liverpool well their season seems to be all but over before it began with poor results against mid to lower table opposition and the best they can hope for is a Europa league and that is if they put a long run of wins together which does not seem likely any time soon. So who are their danger men? Well at the moment they have very few due to injuries but they do have Gerrard who can always pop up from outside the box and score they also have Sterling who can cause problems with his pace and skill which could be a problem for us given our injury problems. This is how I expect Liverpool to line up.

So now on to our beloved united after a poor performance Monday we will be hoping for a better performance against such fierce rivals and get all three points by playing them off the park which we capable of. We could also see the return of Rafael and Jones back to the starting line up given they were expected back on the 8^th of December but I doubt this will happen as they have not trained with the first team or played with the reserves all week. Also we will not see Smalling due to his groin injury he picked up on Monday. We could also see Mata dropped due to the poor performance he had Monday night and see Herrera starting in his place. We should expect to see a back three formation in this match due to all our defensive injuries. This is how I expect us to line up against Liverpool on Sunday.

My prediction for this match is 2-1 with Rooney to score the first for us and the reason why I think we will win this match is that we can win matches while playing poor where as Liverpool do not seem to know how to do this at all during this season and also their confidence is low and they don’t have a very clear playing style at the moment.

Southampton vs Manchester United Preview

So now we have Southampton after winning our fourth game in a row and with Southampton enduring a dip in their results this could be the best time to face them and with Rooney expected to be back for this game we should see a more fluid attack when going forward so what can we expect from Southampton ? Well we can expect them to dominate the possession and pass the ball from wing to wing until they can find a combination of passes to go through the middle or down the wing then back into the middle where one of their strikers or attacking midfielders will be waiting to have a shot on goal. But who are their danger men ? Well they have a Pelle who is on fire for his first season in this league and country. Also they have Long who is good at holding the ball up and playing other midfielders in and attackers but can also score goals by waiting on the last defender and making runs past them. So what are there weaknesses in their team ? Well if attack them with lots of pace and catch them on the counter attack. Also we can use our wingers to get behind their defenders which is another one of their weaknesses. This is how I expect Southampton to line up.

So what about our beloved United well with Di Maria still injured we will still see Herrera in the starting line up. But I think now we should see Wilson in the starting line up again as RVP has been poor form the last few games and should be by now benched to see if the team can play better without him. Also it will be interesting to see if Rooney will be playing an attacking midfielder role. Also it will be interesting to see if Van Gaal sticks with three in the back against a team who plays three up front which could be difficult to keep quiet with three defenders. This is how I think we will line up over the weekend.

Manchester United vs Stoke City Match Preview

So with a brilliant win against Hull the weekend we now face Stoke which I am a bit excited to watch as I will be at the match watching. So what are we expecting from Stoke? Well we should expect a well organised side in defence who are very hard to break down and they try to play the offside trap a lot and play a high line which is why we will miss Di Maria because he can unlock any tough defence. So what football do stoke play well with the arrival of Hughes he has brought in a style of play not seen at stoke before where they can play short passes and play around midfield’s but also mix it up by suddenly playing a long ball from the middle of the park straight up to the attackers with them running off their opponents. Who are their danger men ? Well one of their danger men is one of our academy graduates Diouf who is on fire this season and likes to play off the last defender. Another danger man for them is Bojan who links up well with the attacker and midfield well to create chances and also gets into the right areas to scores a goal in set plays. So this is how Stoke will line up against us on Tuesday night.

So what about our beloved United? Well with dominate show at the weekend we will be looking to continue this against a rigid side. So with Di maria injured for this game we can expect Herrera back in the starting line up on the left-wing and with doubts with Rooney at the end of the Hull match we could expect Falcao to start along RVP. What positives can we take out of the last match going into this match? Well the first is with RVP looking to be getting back in form with a great goal we hope he can continue this against Stoke also another positive is that our defence was solid-looking again against a poor Hull side lets hope we can keep this up against a side who are more of a challenge against our defence. This is how I think we will line up.

Manchester United vs Hull Preview

So our next opponents are Hull and if I am honest I can’t see any other result than a win because there form has been dreadful and I reckon they will be dragged into the relegation battle. So what’s their style of play well they do like to attack on the counter and keep the ball when in a defensive situation they tend to keep the ball and build from the back. So who are their danger men well if I am honest they have none at the moment because they are in such bad form. So what can we do against Hull to ensure a win well lets start with the defence. They need to get going from the start and keep concentration to the end of the match. But what else can we do well just do the same as against Arsenal and we should be able to pick up three points and a couple of goals at the same time. But I do think we should give Wilson a start in this game and drop Van Persie as he has been in bad form for the last three games. So this is how Hull will line up.

So what about our beloved united well having beating Arsenal we will be looking to continue our winning form at home and hopefully if results go our way climb the table. So now with our injury list coming down one player at a time we now have more players to select from we could see a change in formation but I really doubt it and I doubt that we will see a change in players. But I would like to see Wilson get his first start of the season and see Van Persie dropped to the subs as Wilson looks to be in better form than Van Persie and gives the team more energy and pace in attack. So this is how I think United will line up against Hull.

So on to my prediction for this game. I can only see one result in this match and that is a 3-0 win to united and for Wilson to score and Di Maria to score.

Arsenal vs Manchester United Preview

So now the international break is over we can now get on to some proper football and now we have Arsenal at the Emirates which couldn’t come at a better time for us with arsenal under extreme pressure to get a result after letting go two wins in three weeks. So how will Arsenal play against us well they will try to hog possession and try to pass us to death to get a goal which for our defence at the moment could be hard for us to come out with a result considering the injures we have. What are Arsenal’s weakness’ well like us it’s there defence which seems to be all over the place when faced with strong and pacey attackers they seem to fall to pieces also their conctration lets them down which showed in their last two games. So who are the biggest danger men for them well how much it pains me to say as a huge Welbeck fan it will be him and Ramsey, Sanchez. So This is how Arsenal will line.

So what about our beloved United well with an injury list longer than a length of rope we are now down to the bare bones of the squad what should we do though to battle against it well I think we should start with a the formation I think we should start with a 4-5-1 attacking formation for this game as we are low in quality in every area of the pitch and this would be able to give more protection to the defence and overload the midfield with players which would mean it would be hard for the opposition to find passes in the midfield and also with having two attacking midfielders there would be better link up play with the attacker. The second thing we can do is to give the youth players a chance next to experience as one of the big reasons for the wrong doings of last season is that the youth player didn’t get a chance. So how should we play against Arsenal to get a point or three away with us. Well we should get strong in your face midfielders to play because they do not know how to handle these types of players and then play with a pacey attacker as there defence is on the relatively slow side. Also we should consider playing a physical attacking midfielder to get in the face of the central defence which would cause them problems. So who is likely to be playing for us with all our quality players injured well one thing is for certain McNair will be playing and we could be seeing Fletcher back in a starting position depending on where Fellaini is playing so this is how I think we will line up against Arsenal at the weekend.

Manchester United vs Crystal Palace Preview

So after our loss to city we now have Crystal Palace at home which is no easy game for us because there probably one of the most organised defence in the league thanks to their previous manager Tony Pulis. But I am sure with our attacking players we can unlock a stubborn defence. So how Crystal Palace play well given their last game against West Brom they like to sit deep then attack on the break and tend to score most of their goals through set plays with the midfielders and defenders their current top scorers in the league. The formation they play is a 4-4-1-1 which turns in to a 4-2-3-1 with Jedinak sitting the deepest with ledley just sitting in front of him and then the wingers pushing forward when in possession of the ball with Chamakh as the holding attacking player to push the ball up front to the wingers. So this is how Crystal Palace will line up against us.

So what about our beloved United well with our injury list growing now with Rojo injured according to the official premier league website we should see McNair in the starting line up for this match also we could see Valencia at right back again with Rafael still looking to be injured for the game on Saturday. But are there any other players that could play at right back instead of Valencia. Well of the same quality no but we could play a different formation for this game to factor in the all the injury’s we have. The formation I think we should play is a 5-1-3-1 which will mean the right back and left back will be in a more advance position which would see Valencia be in more of a natural position to him. This is what the Manchester United line up will likely be on Saturday.
